Victorian detail

This is a detail from an idiosyncratically painted Victorian house in East Oakland.  To my eye this is a 1950s color combination but likely painted fairly recently.  But it gets your attention.

  1. Not much wood in English Victorian.

  2. And getting the viewers attention can take some effort. The colours and patterns certainly help these railings do that.

  3. You are right. It's a real eye catcher.

  4. Thankfully it's ready for a repaint; this doesn't work for me at all.

  5. Indeed, 1950's!
In 1955, both Packard and Studebaker offered tri-tone paint jobs on certain models with the white/pink.grey (or black) combo - in Studebaker's case, it was offered on the Speedster. In Packard's case, it was on the Caribbean.

(You KNEW ol' «Louis» would tie this in to cars somehow, didn't you?!)

    ;-D
